Welcome

My name is David Cimon and I'm a Principal Researcher in the Financial Markets Department at the Bank of Canada. Previously, I was an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University. I completed my PhD at the University of Toronto.

My research studies financial markets and the impact of regulation. My recent working papers follow a range of topics, including: conflict of interests in financial markets, financial market design, cyber risk, fintech and regulation. My work has been published in the Journal of Financial & Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of Banking & Finance and the Journal of Financial Markets. I currently serve on the board of the Northern Finance Association.
